A little post-mortem for this game


I have never thought I would enter the GMTK game jam, or ever create a game. I have not learnt GoDot, nor Unity, not GMS2. I used a language that I learnt at school - Pascal. People told me that I can still make a text adventure game, and so I did, in a kind of different way.

I made a search engine, similar to the one in Her Story. It's crap but the player can still access lots of information in the system by reading the ones they already found. I made my effort to try to let the player find each of the paragraph as easy as possible, including linking to a certain search item from different other ones. I also made a document called Facts of Paper, which is a total meme, but also provided hints for the player to proceed.

This is the longest project I have made, and definitely the one I am the most proud of. Writing nearly 800 lines of code is something I have never dreamt of doing. And this is not really something as big as a fully functional game or a 3D publishing. It's just that I had fun digging on a certain idea that came through my head.
